DESCRIPTION OF ORGANISATION (PROFIL): |
ECDL Hellas S.A. is an
independent company, operating under Greek law. It was established in June
2000, primarily for the purpose of implementing and administering the ECDL
Programme in Greece, in collaboration with the Greek Computer Society (GCS).
The GCS is the National Licensee for ECDL Greece; ECDL Hellas S.A. is the
exclusive Sub-Licensee of the GCS. ECDL Hellas S.A. has achieved
the following results for the ECDL Programme in Greece: þ A total of about 600 ECDL Test Centres (TCs)
have been accredited all the regions of the country, þ A total of 53,000 ECDL Candidates have
enrolled in the programme, þ A total of 7,000 Exams and over 260,000
Tests have taken place, þ Promotion, marketing and extensive advertisement of
the ECDL Programme have resulted in ECDL being widely recognised by the Greek
society as the dominant “basic IT skills standard”. ECDL Hellas S.A. premises are
located at the centre of Athens business district, in 200 square metres
offices and the company employs a total of forty (40) full-time employees
(inclusive of accounting). Furthermore, ECDL Hellas S.A. has a network of approximately
fifty (50) external associates, including experts in the Information
Technology (IT) education sector of diversified backgrounds and experience. The ECDL Hellas S.A. staff,
besides being fully qualified on ECDL implementation and administration
matters with substantial practical experience, are versed in a number of
foreign languages all being fluent in English. |

TARGET GROUP: |
People with Special Needs
(PSN). More specifically, persons with mobility impairments (mainly upper
and/or lower limb disabilities) and/or visual impairments. |

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: |
TELL-IT intends to develop a
multimedia, flexible and continuing training program for on-the-job training
for people with mobility and/or visual impairment in order to be employed in
the service provision sector and, more specifically, in helpdesk operations.
In addition, a teleworking module will be developed, together with a relevant
training program, in order to help PSN with more severe disabilities to work
from their home. Finally, the project develops life-long training schemes for
its users, taking into account the constant evaluation of help-desk services
and support technologies. |
